Now, this is my speculating here, but since this is mostly a retirement area (well the town just like, 3 minutes drive is), I think they have learned to serve with a cheerful heart as they would want to be served. Many of these elderly rely on each other in the areas they fall short. There aren't a whole lot of young people here about, and they willingly do as they would want done unto them should they need the assistance of another person.

Just my speculating, of course, but it's still something we could all learn from... the cheerful lending of a hand, the genuine offer of a smile; it can change a day... sometimes a life (no seriously....).Kaitland Conleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13121393412181825607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6426786792815263129.post-81571003924822828652010-04-25T17:10:40.029-04:002010-04-25T17:10:40.029-04:00I hope you don't mind guests leaving comments....I hope you don't mind guests leaving comments...(:

I really enjoyed your article. Do you live in a small town? In my town (Houston, TX area) Wal Mart doesn't seem to hire teenagers at all. Just about all the workers are middle-aged and older, and they hardly even smile at customers. Our regular grocery store is where all the young people work, and while they're not super friendly either, I think they're friendlier than the older people who work there and at Wal Mart. And they always offer to carry our groceries :)Andrea N.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6426786792815263129.post-53492617818649924672010-04-25T10:03:56.857-04:002010-04-25T10:03:56.857-04:00Hehe, you picked up on that, did you? I did try to keep it completely serious, but I don't think I could have if I wanted to, haha.

So is it the old people that carry the groceries, or the old people that have them carried?

(I stick to Walmart, too, but you can buy natural milk at Publix for tons cheaper. I long for the good old days of raw milk... to get that in Florida you have to buy it black market. Yes... we have done it. *runs and hides* ;) )Kaitland Conleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13121393412181825607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6426786792815263129.post-17472726156902178632010-04-24T22:49:03.227-04:002010-04-24T22:49:03.227-04:00Wow, Kait.
